To peep or not to peep

How was your Easter? If you're like me, you probably ate way too much candy. And as I was stuffing myself with that Easter candy, I looked around and realized that there are two kinds of people in the world. Those who like Peeps and those who don't. I fall into the "don't" category. Now, I don't hate Peeps the way I hate those orange circus peanuts, but their not my first choice when it comes to Easter candy. My first choice is Reese's Peanut Butter eggs. I could eat an entire six pack of those in one sitting with no problem at all.

So are you a "peeps" person? How about black jelly beans? (Not for me). And what about Cadbury Eggs? (I don't leave these either). Let me know. Post below or email me at dave@wpst.com.

  1. Peeps are not for me either. I love the regular jelly beans, but not the starburst or skittles ones or whatever that I always see now. Peanut M&Ms are my favorite, but I absolutely hate those malt ball egg things.. that sometimes diguise themselves as peanut M&Ms in my Easter basket until I pop one into my mouth and find out that it isn't.

  2. Reese's peanut butter eggs are my favorite too!! I like Peep's, but I'm not crazy about Jelly Beans, I can only eat so many. I also love Cadbury creme eggs because I am currently in Ireland and Cadbury is an English company (although just bought by Kraft), so I have plenty of it here! I've also heard of chocolate covered Peeps, I'm not sure if they are sold that way or if people just dip them in chocolate but I think that sounds good! Maybe you would like them better that way? Also, Rita's has a new Peep's Ice and I would love to try it, but I guess I'll have to wait 'til next year - no Rita's in Ireland!

  3. I do like peeps, not the taste necessarily but the consistency after they get stale and hard, not fresh ones, never...As for the Ritas peeps water ice its fantastic...although it does NOT taste like Peeps, it tastes exactly like buttercream frosting, its delicious and a bight neon yellow color. My kids love it!

  4. I like stale Peeps. Whenever the boys got any in their Easter baskets, they would open the cellophane wrapping a little, and leave the box on the kitchen counter for a few days until they achieved the desired staleness for me.

Jelly beans have no flavor. I prefer the Lifesaver ones, where you can at least identify the flavors.

Cadbury eggs just seem too sickingly sweet to me. My teeth hurt just looking at them. I can feel a cavity starting as I type this.

So I guess I'm not a big fan of authentic Easter candy. I'm really not a fan of any candy. Except Godiva. Remember that, Dave.

  5. Peeps are yukky! Jelly Beans are yukky but I do like black jelly beans. Cadbury eggs are good but I can only eat one.
